Organized with the cooperation of Regional Province and Catania APT it starts in Militello , on Sunday 30th August, "The Baroque Week".
The festival, at its own 5th edition, is a set of shows and initiatives, which will conclude on Saturday 5th September.
The festival, as the previous editions, starts with a historical parade to pay homage to Prince Branciforti, lord of Militello in the first years of 1600 and an important and peculiar government personality and protector of the cultural heritage flourished in his court.
The mask parade will start at 5.00 p.m. on Sunday 30th. And on Sunday as well the painting extemporaneous show "Paint the Baroque" will open. It is an occasion for artists coming from all over Sicily to paintsome areas of Militello.
Monday 31st August - conference on "Militello and the Baroque Valley";
Tuesday 1st September - Theatrical show, titled "Idillio Pastorale Zizza", by Pietro Carrera, a poet and scholar of 1600;
Wednesday 2nd Septmber - "Baroccando" with music and dancing carried out by local artists;
Thursday 3rd September - "Living Chess Game", where two players will face in a challenge having as game at stake two men's lives;
Friday 4th September - Guitar and violin Baroque music by the duet Guzman and Rossi;
Saturday 5th Septmber - "La maschera e lo Specchio" and "La Serva Padrona":
