Acitrezza is a small fishing village close to Acicastello, described in Giovanni Verga’s novel "I Malavoglia". It is also renowned for its "Faraglioni", large lava rocks in the sea facing the coast and the Isola Lachea. The Acitrezza harbour, which is mainly for fishing boats, comprises a northern embanked pier at the land edge of which there is a small wet dock, and a southern pier a few metres from the end of which there is a perpendicular jetty.

Access: access from northern side of Isola Lachea, leaving to port yellow buoys on edge of zone "A" (marine reserve).

Sea-bed: rocky.

Soundings: 1.00 to 4.00 metres.

Maximum Length per Boat: 25/30m.

Prohibitions: there is a natural marine reserve called "Isole Ciclopi" comprising the waters between Capo Mulini and a coastal point about 2500m SW of Acitrezza. The reserve is divided into three zones:
a) completely reserved area, no navigation, anchorage, swimming, fishing or diving with or without breathing equipment allowed.
b) general reserved area, no professional or underwater fishing allowed.
c) partially reserved area, no kind of fishing allowed unless expressly authorised.
In addition, no anchorage, fishing, swimming or diving allowed within a range of 100m from the end of the southern pier.

Winds: in the summer season, NE winds create backwash at southern arm.
