Mineo: Biblioteca-Museo "Luigi Capuana"

The museum devoted to Luigi Capuana is situated in the same hall of the Biblioteca Comunale. Here are manuscripts, letters, relics and many other things (furniture and paintings) which belonged to the writer from Mineo. At present the museum is housed in some rooms of the huge Town Building which, for about two centuries, until 1767, have been a study centre for Jesuit novices coming from the whole of Sicily. Confiscated that year from the Bourbon government, it became seat of the Town Hall and adapted to the new function. The museum will be permanently transferred to the writer's native house as soon as the restoration works are finished.
