Museo della Civiltà Contadina
The Museo della Civiltà
Contadina, created in the nineteenth- century
native place of the local bishop Mons. Angelo
Calabretta, aims at the recovering and at the
defense of local cultures, remembering the
different creative manifestation of man, such as
popular tradition, ancient crafts, yesterday
daily life objects, and by giving the opportunity
to come closer to a civilization, like the one
born on the Etnean slopes, which has a
pretechnological character. A tour centred on the
memory and presentation of sociological and
antropological aspects concerning the Etnean
country culture (particularly the area of
Acireale) of the last century.
