The
beautiful Swab Castle of Randazzo, recently
restored, has contained since 1986 an interesting
Sicilian puppet collection, bought by the Town
Administration thanks to a contribution of the
Sicilian Regional Administration. There are
important differences between the two main "pupare"
schools of the island, the one of Catania and the
one of Palermo. The 21 puppets in the museum of
Randazzo belong to the School of Catania and date
back to the beginning of the twentieth century.
You can see the puppets which, as far as
tradition is concerned, are nowadays used to
perform the events of the "chansons de
geste" of Charlemagne and of his paladins.
